Quaker Real Medleys Cherry Pistachio Oatmeal

Quaker Real Medleys Cherry Pistachio Oatmeal

You haven’t mistakenly stumbled unto a food blog…a cup of Quaker Real Medleys Cherry Pistachio Oatmeal was included in my Influenster Holiday VoxBox so it’s only fair that I give it an honest review since I wrote about receiving the VoxBox. I’m not a huge oatmeal consumer but when I do eat it I tend to eat one of the Quaker varieties. I had never tried this particular line so I was excited to see how it tasted.

Influenster Holiday VoxBox Product Review: NYC Liquid Lipshine

The following product was provided by Influenster for testing purposes and review consideration. The brand nor Influenster have any affect on the the outcome of this review.

NYC Liquid Lipshine in Nude York City 582

NYC Liquid Lipshine in Nude York City 582

Considering my love of all things makeup it’s obvious that I was more than thrilled to see a lip product included in my Infuenster Holiday 2012 VoxBox. This was my first experience with any New York Color (NYC) branded products so I really didn’t know what to expect or what level of quality their products tend to have. I received NYC Liquid Lipshine in Nude York City 582, which as the name states is a nude colored gloss with sparkle. According to the NYC website this gloss line uses pure pigments to give it a 3D-effect shine. It’s supposed to have a creamy and soft texture while being non-sticky. Vitamin E is the key ingredient in the formula that is supposed to provide shine while leaving lips feeling moisturized. The real question is if this bargain priced gloss lives up to the marketing spill!

Made For A Man, But Perfect For A Woman: Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balms

Jack Black Intensive Therapy Lip Balms: Shea Butter & Vitamin E and Grapefruit & Ginger

Jack Black Intensive Therapy Lip Balms: Shea Butter & Vitamin E and Grapefruit & Ginger

Dry lip girls (and guys) rejoice! There is another product out there to rave over and it’s from Jack Black! This company and their products are geared towards men, but even as their website points out some of their products are appreciated and used by women. One such product would be there line of lip balms. I am absolutely in LOVE with these simple, yet effective balms. They are extremely moisturizing so even those with the driest of lips will be thrilled with the results. I purchased  these on a whim after trying unsuccessfully to locate my beloved H20 lip balm in a local store. I don’t have the driest of lips but I do love a great lip product that promotes hydration and softness without feeling greasy. Jack Black Intense Therapy balms do just that.

They come in 7 varieties (8 if you count the limited edition Açai Berry & Vanilla option available in the Balm Squad Lip Quad set):

Shea Butter & Vitamin E

Mango & Mandarin

Black Tea & Blackberry

Grapefruit & Ginger

Lemon & Chamomile

Natural Mint & Shea Butter

Vanilla & Lavender

The bonus perk? These lip balms offer sunscreen protection in SPF 25 (rare for most lip products) while also being gluten & fragrance-free. They retail for $7.50, but can be purchased in a 4 tube set for $25 (a savings of $1.25/tube) or a duo set for $12 (a savings of $1.50/tube). They are available at various retailers including Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Product Review: Urban Decay Lip Love Honey-Infused Lip Therapy

Urban Decay’s Lip Love Honey Infused Lip Therapy isn’t a new product at all, but when I recently picked up a new one on sale I thought it might be a good idea to do a review on them.

Lip Love is a line of tinted lip balms…or gloss. It’s not quite as thick as traditional balms because it is not a solid, but it’s a bit thicker than some glosses. UD officially calls them a lip therapy. This is perhaps due to the ingredients used and the affects they are said to have. According to the product description on the UD website:

Its healing powers come courtesy of a few ingredients that are rejuvenating heavy hitters. Antioxidant Vitamin C boosts collagen and evens out skin tone. Millet, Jojoba and Apricot Kernel Seed Oils work together as a powerful lip-healing trifecta to moisturize, replenish and promote cell turnover. Continue reading

Product Review: Shu Uemura Skin Purifier High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil Advanced Formula

If you have checked out any of my previous posts you may already be aware that I am an oily girl with a few skin issues. Because of this, I’m always on the look out for skincare products that help my skin. I’ve had a deluxe sized sample of the Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil for awhile but didn’t commit to using it as a cleanser on a daily basis until recently. Prior to this, I used it on occasion as a pre-cleanse to remove makeup (much like the Dermalogica PreCleanse that I love to use and is created for that specific purpose) but always followed up with my usual cleanser. For the last 3 weeks I decided to use this exclusively to see how it really worked.

365 Days of Eye Shadow Challenge

As you may have already noticed, I have an obsession with eye shadows so it is no surprise that my kit is dominated by various eye shadow palettes and individual pots. So I decided to try a 365 Days of Eye Shadows Challenge. I had been thinking about doing this for awhile, but put it on hold when I realized that another blog was already doing it ( I contacted Sheila and let  her know as a courtesy that I had been planning on doing it (maybe it’s the Southern girl in me lol) and I think she appreciated me reaching out since she thanked me for letting her know and wished me well.

The Challenge is quite simple. My goal is to wear and post an eye shadow look for 365 days! The Challenge is actually being able to keep up with it…and if I’m lucky, encourage others to join in by submitting their daily looks to be shared on here. But even if no one else joins in this will be a great challenge for myself to actually force me to use the vast amount of eye products that I own on a more regular basis…and make me be a little more creative. When you’re putting the spot light on yourself you tend to realize that you have to keep things fresh (meaning I can’t grab my go-to Naked palettes to make things easy every day lol).

If you’re interested in joining the challenge, let me know by posting below in the comments! In the meantime, follow the 365 Days of Eye Shadow Challenge board on Pinterest at !
