Some people are addicted to street drugs…some are addicted to porn. I’m addicted to lip tars! Today my addictions came in the mail! How convenient is that??? All jokes aside, 5 more OCC lip tars that I picked up during their Earth Day weekend sale ($12 each after applying my OCC Pro Discount) arrived today. I quickly swatched 4 of them to add to the OCC Lip Tar Swatch Library (the 5th one, Vintage already appears in the library and was just a backup purchase).

The one pleasant surprise I got was seeing these packaged in the individual pouches. Previously, lip tars ordered from OCC directly did not come in the pouches so I was under the impression that this packaging was exclusive to Sephora (IMATS NY lip tars did not come this way either). I think these little pouches are perfect for on-the-go use…I tossed the lip tar I wore for a recent formal in to the pouch that Nylon came in with a clean brush just in case I needed to touch it up (I didn’t need it though because my Vintage lips lasted through the night and a late dinner with no trouble). Other than that though I prefer the bigger pouches that the lip sets come in or the lip tar + polish set I purchased at IMATS came in because they can hold up to 12 lip tars neatly…maybe even more.

Because this is the first time I have ever picked up the clear lip tar I can mention on first glance that this particular lip tar is much more fluid than any of the others. This makes sense if it is being used to sheer out one of the other lip tars or if it’s meant to hydrate/prime the lips. I haven’t used it yet but I got it solely out of curiosity and to be able to answer the question I have been asked often…”Do you NEED the Clear Lip Tar?”. My answer has always been no since I have successfully been using them without ever having used the Clear one, but I thought it might be great for sheering out some of the stronger colors.

Other than that there really isn’t any new information I can provide about these lip tars that hasn’t already been covered in previous posts. If you haven’t already, check out my OCC Lip Tar Swatch Library to view individual colors.
