I received a lot of products at the same time yesterday so I only got a chance to do quick lip swatches of the new OCC Stained Gloss Lip Tars. *These will be added to the Lip Tar Swatch Library as soon as I get a little time to do it!* A little info about these new lip tars:

OCC Fans have been asking to see a new take on Lip Tar™ that remains true to our pigment-potency heritage, while providing a more see-through, glossy look,” says David Klasfeld, CEO and Creative Director, “We took our inspiration from stained glass windows and lighting gels. Transparent yet concentrated colour that no one would dare call sheer.” – this was taken from the OCC website HERE.

There are currently 6 colors in the collection.

  • Androgyne – Psychedelic orange gel
  • Voyeur – Yellow glaze (according to OCC it creates a Peach Neutral)
  • New Wave – Glassy neon pink
  • Meta – Red orange shellac
  • Jealous – Popsicle pink/red
  • Rhythm Box – Translucent purpled burgundy

What I was able to notice during these quick swatches is that the color is build-able. You can apply the thinnest, most sheer layer which will only have a slight sheen or you can choose to add more to get the more “stained glass” look shown in the picture above. These can also be applied over traditional lip tars to give them added dimension.

are they oily? i haven’t tried any yet … i need a neon pink i may check out new wave… thanks for sharing 🙂

    • No, they aren’t oily at all. If you’ve tried any of the “regular” lip tars then think of those but in a more glossy formula. They dry down to a nice stain after a few hours (or you can blot them down when you apply if you like). New Wave and Rhythm Box are the 2 I would recommend as great pink glosses (despite RB being described as a purpled burgundy). Thanks for commenting, Katherine! If you try any of them out let me know what you think!
