NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadows in Cassiopeia, Desdemona, Subra, and Lysithea

My latest brand obsession has become NARS so I thought it was time to review some of their products for my readers. Up first is the new Dual Intensity eye shadows. This line has 12 “ready-to-wear” shades that can be applied dry for sheer application and wet for a deeper, more opaque look (hence the name “Dual Intensity”).

I picked up 4 shades:

  • Cassiopeia – iridescent electric pink
  • Desdemona – rich shimmery burgundy
  • Subra – black orchid
  • Lysithea – shark grey

I found that these shadows can be applied sheer to medium with dry application, but the real intensity is when they are applied wet as NARS describes. The only one that does not give a ton of payoff without applying several layers wet or dry is Cassiopeia. I think this is a shade that would look amazing over a dark base versus on it’s own. Overall, I definitely love the formula of these shadows. They blend easily and have a soft, smooth texture. Retail price is something that may cause some people to stay away…each shadow is $29.00.
